Do you have a Heart for Hospice?   By joining our Monthly Giving Program you are helping us to ensure a special kind of caring for yourself, the ones you love, and your entire community.

Become a special type of caring Donor by making a commitment to give the Peace Arch Hospice Society a monthly, fixed amount.  You can give monthly through your credit card or have the amount automatically debited from your bank chequing account.  You will receive a single tax receipt which is issued annually at the end of the year and, as an added bonus, you will receive one free registration for our annual Hike for Hospice event.  Giving monthly is easier and more convenient and you can change, suspend or cancel your monthly donation at any time.

Debbie Nedelak Direct Mail Campaign

Of all the aspects of life a mother aims to prepare her child for, the excruciating emotional journey following her loss and navigating the new landscape of daily life in her absence are unavoidable.  In late 2019, Jody Nedelak lost his mom Debbie, who for over two decades, courageously battled two diagnoses of breast cancer and a terminal diagnosis of brain cancer.  On Wednesday, November 6th at the age of 63, Debra Nedelak passed away at the Peace Arch Hospice Residence with her loving son Jody and husband Jim at her side.

In honour of Mother’s Day, Jody shares treasured memories of his mom and how she was his biggest supporter through our Direct Mail Campaign.

This Mother’s Day, consider giving a gift in honour of the moms in your life.

After receiving such exceptional compassionate care and grief support during the most difficult time in their lives, Jim and Jody Nedelak have contributed the money they have raised through the Debra Nedelak Memorial Fund to Peace Arch Hospice Society. By generously donating, your gift will help families like the Nedelaks by ensuring our professional programs and services remain free and accessible for all of those facing this challenging time now and into the future.

Give a gift in honour of the moms in your life this Mother’s Day and Peace Arch Hospice Society will send them a card and a small bag of wildflower seeds to acknowledge your gift. If you give a gift in memory of someone, PAHS will send you a small bag of seeds to plant in their memory.

The first several donors who donate $200.00 or more to this campaign will be gifted a limited edition original numbered print of “Generations of Hope” signed by artist, Jim Nedelak.

“Generations of Hope”
Medium: Charcoal and coloured pencil
Size: 16” x 20”
Date: December 2007

Background: Jim wanted to do something to honour all women who have fought breast cancer and for those who continue to fight, so Debbie encouraged him to draw a picture. The result was his beautiful drawing titled, “Generations of Hope”, depicting three generations of a family – mother, daughters and grandmother. He chose to include a splash of pink on each of the ladies, and the faint pink ribbon in the clouds in honours of all women who have battled the disease.

Peace Arch Hospice Society is grateful to everyone who contributed to this campaign, it would not have been possible without them. Generous members of our community volunteered their time and talent for all components – the writing, the printing, and the distribution.

Host a Fundraiser

Hosting your own fundraising event is a great way to support Peace Arch Hospice Society. It could be a birthday party in which the guests make a donation in lieu of a present, it might be a ticketed event with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for Hospice, or it may even be a pledge drive spearheaded by a friend who always wanted to run a marathon.

Whatever your event, please give us a call (604-531-7484) or email us so we can help you get started.
