My soulmate, best friend and husband unexpectedly passed away. I was a lost person. Through my extensive reliance on the staff and volunteers of the Peace Arch Hospice Society I have gotten through a very difficult time and now have hope and a positive outlook for my future.
Ways to become part of our Legacy Circle:
Leave a Gift in Your Will (Bequest)
One of the easiest ways to leave a legacy gift is by including Peace Arch Hospice Society in your will. Doing so will reduce your estate taxes. You can choose a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the residue (amount remaining after other beneficiaries, expenses and taxes are paid). Just add a phrase about your intention using our legal name and charitable registration number. We have prepared some helpful sample wording to get you started:
Specific Bequest
“I give to Peace Arch Hospice Society, charitable number 119297513RR0001, the sum of $_________ for purposes determined by its Board of Directors.”
Estate Residue
“I give all (or ____% of) the residue of my estate to Peace Arch Hospice Society, charitable number 119297513RR0001 for purposes determined by its Board of Directors.”

Donate Your Life Insurance Policy
A gift through life insurance provides a way for you to make a more substantial, cost-effective gift to Peace Arch Hospice Society. You may be able to name our organization as the owner or beneficiary of your life insurance or retirement plan. The best option for you will depend on whether you wish to receive the tax benefits during your lifetime or applied to your estate.

Designate Your RRSP, RRIF, or TFSA
A donation of RRSPs, RRIFs, or TFSA is a tax-effective and impactful way to support Peace Arch Hospice Society and the work we do. By naming Peace Arch Hospice Society as a beneficiary of registered plans, you’ll retain ownership and use of the funds during your lifetime, receive a tax receipt for the value of the plan, avoid probate fees by removing these assets from your estate, and reduce your overall estate taxes. You can choose to donate all or a portion of your retirement funds, and still provide for your family by naming more than one beneficiary.

Charitable Remainder Trusts
A charitable remainder trust allows you to make a secure charitable gift for the future while retaining the investment income from the gift during your lifetime. This trust can be funded with cash, securities or real estate. Not only will you receive ongoing income during your lifetime, but you will also receive a tax receipt that you can use today.
